Contemporary Harbor Front – Cape Cod

This project was a ground floor endeavor involving a new construction home and full scope of design of both the residence and the lot. The velocity zone of the property necessitated permit review from the conservation review board to comply with FEMA codes. The original home’s condition and orientation was unsalvageable and subsequently torn down.

Once the lot was cleared, the property afforded fantastic 360° panoramic views of Falmouth Harbor and Vineyard Sound. The design plan included showcasing these views in all rooms of the house.

The home’s architecture took inspiration from the horizontal prairie style aesthetic, making the most of the sprawling landscape and natural surroundings. The gentle interior color scheme evokes shades of stone, shell, and sand - highlighting the beauty of the outdoors without competing against it.

Resources utilized in this project include;

Hardiplank siding by Harvey

Thermador appliances

Sherwin-Williams interior paint

Restoration Hardware fixtures and finishes

The final result of this project is a breathtaking residence, simultaneously exhilarating and serene.
